About Us

Jenna Holz is a Kiltmaker, Premier Highland dancer, and former bagpiper based in Kentville, Nova Scotia.  A life-long wool and fibre arts enthusiast, Jenna went from being a somewhat weird kid with a sewing machine and knitting needles to an adult who practices sewing, weaving, spinning, knitting, growing and using natural dyes, processing raw fleeces, and of course, kiltmaking.

When the opportunity arose in 2024 to take a 60h, week-long “Introduction to Kiltmaking” course taught by Master Kiltmaker Audrey Oakley, Jenna jumped at the opportunity, and the rest is history.  Jenna also works in healthcare as a Certified Orthotist, which involves making custom medical braces for folks with complex, long-term conditions. As she says: “I’m quite good at making custom wearable things that fit people really well”.

With a focus on dance kilts, and many of her customers being adult dancers, Jenna is skilled at designing and making kilts that fit a variety of body shapes and curves, and anticipating the dancer’s future adjustability needs.  That being said, she also enjoys working with kids and taking on the perennial challenge of “guess what the next growth spurt will look like”.
