Quotes will be generated upon request. Due to the nature of some jobs (such as alterations to kilts that were produced elsewhere), a ballpark estimate may be issued after some virtual correspondence, but the item and/or person must be examined in-person before a firm quote is provided.
-
All work orders require a non-refundable 50% deposit before work will commence. The remaining half is due on or before the day of pick-up, or before the completed item is shipped out. Receipt of deposit places the customer in the work queue.
-
Custom Traditional Kilts will only be made for customers who get measured in-person by Jenna. This provides peace of mind that the measurements are correct, and opportunity for better communication about how the kilt will fit, and what the customer’s needs are.
Signature Custom Kilties, Aboyne skirts, Nationals blouses, and petticoats can be made by measurements that are provided by the customer, or Jenna may measure the customer herself. Jenna takes responsibility for the accuracy of measurements that she takes herself. If a customer provides their own measurements, Jenna will ensure the garment is made accurately to the provided measurements, but she does not take responsibility for the accuracy of measurements that were taken by someone else. Before the item is shipped out or dispensed, Jenna will take and provide photos of a measuring tape on the garment to demonstrate the accuracy of the measurements.
Alterations must be assessed for and measured in-person.

Flying Shuttle Kiltmaking will make every effort to complete projects within the given timeline. Jenna has over a decade of experience in managing her workload as it pertains to custom hand-made work for customers, and she prides herself in completing her work within the timeframe she provides to her customers. Due to the inherently slow nature of small-scale made-to-measure sewing, the timeline for most jobs is at least 4 weeks.
